No gully washers, the runoff is not too bad so far, just light rain. There was one instance when it was a bit brown from the farm runoff.
Weeds in the South Bay has become really bad. Back by the cemetery is almost impassable. Time to call Lake Management. For now and mid-July. We have enough money to treat both. Bob will call Mike at Lake Management to treat it asap.
DNR is coming out to check for lake violations this week. Chris, from the DNR, is coming out to check for weed treatment. Hopefully she will give us the permit so we can get after it in the next 2 weeks. Lake Management treated for curly leaf pondweed.
We have a price to have Lake Management treat for milfoil however we save $2000 or so using our volunteers. We want to keep our volunteer base. We will shoot for June 9th or 11th for treatment depending on the state of the milfoil. Bob and Don haven’t seen it this bad in a long time probably because of lack of snow cover on the lake. Bruce will get ahold of Kevin Haugie to let him know when we are spraying.
We have the requests in for reimbursement with the LID and DNR. We have $17k from DNR and $12k from LID.
We need to call to get the Little Green Boat Landing fix.
GLA is going to help staff the LID booth at Ki Chi Saga Days. Karl Oscar days with the Coalition needs volunteers to man a booth.
Minnesota Waters is nonprofit organization that manages websites for Lake Associations. They lobby the government for lake issues.
